Facts and Fees
What types of addictions do you treat?
We successfully treat dependency and abuse of alcohol, meth, cocaine and other stimulants, marijuana, heroin, and prescription drugs including narcotics and benzodiazapine (benzos), with our holistic, non 12-Step rehab program.
How successful is your program?
We believe we have one of the highest success rates in the world. The need for our clients to return to treatment for further help is greatly diminished compared to most other programs around the world. Most of our clients successfully beat their addiction after completing only one 30-day rehab treatment program. Instead of needing to participate in the usual revolving door of rehab after rehab program, our clients have improved the quality and direction of their lives, and move on to live life free from addiction.
What is the duration of stay for the residential program?
The standard program length is 30 days. The majority of our clients receive long-term results from the program with just one 30-day stay in our rehab program. In some cases, however, an additional one or two weeks are appropriate and recommended based on usage history. In such cases, length of stay is decided by the treatment team along with the client.
Sometimes factors such as history of chemical dependency, age, psychiatric history or other variables, suggest that a longer length of stay is needed. In these situations, a Senior Staff member will work with the client to assess their needs for an appropriate length of treatment.
What is the cost of the residential program?
The cost of the 30-day program is $26,000. When additional weeks are appropriate for treatment, a per week charge is added. We require full payment of the program fees upon admission.
What kinds of people come to Desert Canyon for drug or alcohol rehab treatment?
We help people 20 years and older, from all walks of life. We admit people with dependency or addiction to alcohol, drugs, or prescription drugs. More than half have tried treatment elsewhere without success. Over the course of time, we help virtually the same numbers of males and females. The largest age group is between 31-45 years old and over 55% are employed full-time. A majority of clients come for alcohol dependence alone or in addition to chemical dependency for cocaine, marijuana, heroin, and other street drugs. A large percentage of people have dual diagnosis issues of depression, anxiety or other psychiatric diagnoses. Our hand-picked collection of advanced methods directly addresses these issues, usually with a significant decrease in symptoms. However, we do not accept people who are severely mentally ill or people with significant psychiatric history.
Can I detox there?
Our facility is not a medical hospital and does not provide medical detox supervision or detox services. It is up to the client to get detoxed before arriving at our rehab facility. Our professional Admissions staff can help make recommendations regarding what facilities are available in the area.
What are the staff's credentials?
Our team of highly professional, caring staff is led by Masters and Ph.D. Certified professionals, as well as licensed Addictions Specialists and Psychologists. Our secondary staff includes licensed Physicians, Acupuncturists, Nutritionists, RNs and other professionals in the healing arts.
Is it a lockdown facility, Can I bring my laptop and books?
We are not a lockdown facility. Our approach is to treat people as the adults that they are, while building their ability to act responsibly. For their first week, clients are not allowed to leave the facility, as they begin to learn skills and gain strength in themselves. After the first week, they are given pass privileges that increase over time. As clients gain more strength in remaining abstinent, they are given more responsibility, more ‘freedom’, and longer passes.
You are welcome to bring personal belongings such as laptop computers, cell phones, books and CDs. You’ll be permitted to use your own cell phones and laptop computers after a few days. This policy allows our clients to have contact with the very people you will be interacting with after discharge. This also helps the learning and empowerment process, since you’ll be able to practice your new skills as issues come up, and you’ll be better prepared to apply them when you go home.
